Sam Balaban (b. 1993) is a multimedia artist, photographer, and director interested in exploring human beings through visual storytelling. He began his career as at The FADER Magazine and used this entry point to begin photographing musicians both on and off of the stage while also directing videos. Sam is interested in producing physical works of art derived from his photography, utilizing a variety of manipulation and collage-based techniques to sculpt and highlight the identities of the figures he’s photographed. He is also very committed continuing his photography, creative direction, and video directing. In terms of video, he specializes in creating engaging documentary content and is also interested in producing imaginative, stylized video pieces of all kinds.

Sam lives and works in New Jersey. His work has been exhibited in group shows in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Abu Dhabi. His clients have included Nike, Columbia Records, Warner Records, 10k Projects, The Museum of Modern Art, Billboard, The FADER, Genius, The North Face, On Running, Hilton, Vogue, amongst many others.
